With clubs well and truly back, we are finally seeing past city hotspots reopening with monster lineups to rival the outdoor festivals. Whether that be Bristol’s Motion, Leeds’ Mint, Manchester’s Mayfield Depot or London’s Printworks incredible AW21 series, every location is trying to remind us why we walked through their doors. In the sunny south coastal city of Brighton that is no different. Opposite the forever famous Brighton Pier, in the centre of the quirkiest corner of England, dancing spot Patterns is back to its full glory.
The Patterns line-ups have always reflected a diverse selection of old and new, well established and fresh-faced talent. Diversity ranges across genres, experience, notoriety, tempo and all things in between. The winter line up will span across the entire musical spectrum, with sounds from house & disco to grime & garage. With the venue hosting a Boiler Room in September, it will need no introduction as a place that can make the rising stars of tomorrow into headliners of tomorrow. In 2019 artists like O’Flynn, Sherelle, Special Request, & HAAi all took over the decks before the pandemic, and we have seen their rises since.

In October, Patterns will host back to back parties, including Chloe Robinson (Barely Legal), IMOGEN, Horse Meat Disco, India Jordan and more kick starting the Patterns famed basement rave cave. November ravers won’t want to miss shows including Sicaria Sound, Mall Grab, Anz, Skee Mask and many more. Rounding off the first year back to raving, December will see Madam X, Demuja, Shanti Celeste, Parris and plenty more, plus a series of resident parties. New Years Eve parties are yet to be announced, but Patterns can promise some heavy names in store for those.
Our highlights for the programme are the techno titan IMOGEN, whose meteoric rise over the past two years highlights the stature of this line up. IMOGEN has played some of the biggest venues in Europe with her hard hitting electro and bass heavy UK techno. In the intimate space of the rave cave this is sure to be full of energy. Carrying on that energy is the long haired Australian, Mall Grab. Operating at a high tempo from start to finish, you won’t stop moving, and nor will he.

Patterns is much more than the rave cave, so if you’re going down for the weekend ensure to visit during the day too, whilst taking in the sites of Brighton. As well as the basement club space, Patterns’ terrace with beautiful sea views, serves as the perfect weekend hang-out spot for funky cocktails, a selection of beers and sourdough pizza (with their newly launched pizza brand ‘Cutting Shapes’). All of those things will be soundtracked by the resident DJ’s every weekend, what more can you ask for if the suns out?
