Steel City Dance Discs’ Hazmat Team are back with a chaotic 2-track EP

RBT EP dropped today from the SCDD collective

The SCDD Hazmat Team are back in business this month with a supercharged two track EP. Landing just in time for the return of clubs with lockdown restrictions lifting last weekend, this rave-ready release will no doubt have venues rocking around the UK and further afield.

Born in Newcastle, Australia Steel City Dance Discs has grown in stature with each release since their inception in 2016. Spearheaded by the distinct heavy-hitting sounds of Mall Grab, the label’s sound has evolved in tandem with his own productions, delving into various corners of electronic music from dusty lo-fi house to mind-bending electro.

Acting as a creative outlet for members of the label, the Hazmat Team first appeared in 2019 with a techno-induced free download titled “I Love This City” featuring an iconic re-worked sample. The collective comprises of Cody Brassington, Jackson Fitzsimmons, Jarred Kennedy, and one other member who you might be able to recognise from some of the signature elements in their tracks.

Their latest EP “RBT” follows suit with their previous unhinged releases. The lead track “Hume Highway Hakke” quickly sets the tone of the EP, with punchy distorted kicks and pulsating bass before an injection of hair-raising stabs up the ante.

“Lost In Tha Cross” keeps the energy right where the last track left off, with piercing drums and a vinyl-style crackle filling the mix in the early stages. Rattling percussion and and a raucous melody complete the chaotic soundscape.
