Last month it was revealed that Shoreditch was getting a hotly anticipated upgrade in ‘Luxury clubbing’. Glam, based at the former Club Aquarium, has now announced it’s dates for the new opening party after the latest nightlife set back. Should lockdown restrictions be lifted on the 19th July, the game changing space is looking to throw caution to the wind with an opening night booked on 24th July. The eagerly awaited opener features Glam’s residents, for the ultimate warm up, before they welcome the likes of Louie Vega, David Morales, Dennis Ferrer & Armand Van Helden.

Natasha Kitty Katt, Neil Pearce, Ceri, The Mendenez Brothers, Smiggy Smalls and Bhavik are the group of resident selectors tasked with growing Glam’s day by day reputation. For the opening three months these will be the artists that get everyone talking. With a mixture of funk, groove, disco and house all thrown in, the residents will have something for everyone to enjoy on opening night, and create a distinguished upbeat atmosphere for freedom weekend.

Joining them will be a new main resident for the club and the first superstar to take to the all new Glam booth; American DJ & producer David Morales. The internationally acclaimed icon will feature 31st July, 14th August & 29th August. Morales will set the standard, as a club and festival headliner he knows how to party and get the crowd moving. He will also be sure to bring his own twist, remixing or producing over 500 tracks Morales has plenty of tracks in his back-catalogue to offer. The long-standing artist has worked with the likes of of Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, & Whitney Houston, releasing on the world’s most iconic labels for the last 25 years, so Glam have pulled it out the bag with this one.

Dennis Ferrer, another American powerhouse, is the next one to take the decks on the 21st August. Bursting into the mainstream in 2010 with ‘Hey Hey’, Ferrer has gone from New York DJ to global producer. This year. he teamed up with Disciples for ‘Whisper’; a catchy club friendly house track, championed by BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard who is credited for setting up the transatlantic partnership. Dennis will be sure to bring the party to Glam for an epic showcase of his career to date.

Armand Van Helden closes the first set of dates off, and is the last of the big three Americans lined up to take Shoreditch by storm. Van Helden is the disco house and speed garage genre personified. He is known for using samples from every genre available, from dance to R&B to reggae, so on the 18th September you can be sure to find some new tracks. However it’s the older Van Helden tracks that will have the dance floor moving, ‘You Don’t Know Me’, ‘My My My’ & ‘I Want Your Soul’ are all legendary tracks for any lover of EDM & House. I have also personally loved his revival of late too, he brings the old school disco funk into a bouncing new style house track, with ‘Give Me Your Loving’.
Without even mentioning the special unannounced guests, the programme Glam have put together shows that the owners Paul Nelson and Carl McCormick know what they are doing. Glam is quickly looking like the place to be for house & disco lovers.
