Five artists to see at Ministry of Sound this winter

Dance away the cold nights

As winter is upon us, it’s the perfect time to get indoors and have a party. That’s why we’ve compiled five top notch artists to see at the legendary club Ministry of Sound over the festive period. So without further ado, here’s our top 5 picks of artists that always light up a venue no matter where they play.

1. Horse Meat Disco

The infamous foursome have just celebrated 16 years on the circuit, spreading the gospel of disco all over the world. All four resident DJs Luke Howard, Severino, Jim Stanton and James Hillard have built a reputation for their fantastic parties and high quality disco sets.

Known for their parties every Sunday at Eagle, these guys are dedicated to the art of disco, pumping out nothing but feel good vibes. Catch them on the 14th December with Glitterbox for a disco frenzy.

2. Hannah Wants

The Birmingham born former pro footballer, Hannah Wants, is definitely on our must see list this winter. The bashful bass heavy selections unleashed by her have allowed Hannah to cement a unique identity and sound that’s adapted well to changes in the underground and marshalled a loyal fan base along the way.

Mixing everything from bass through to techno, and releases on major labels such as Virgin and Dirtybird, her music does much of the talking. Her track ‘Rhymes’ with Chris Lorenzo peaked at #13 on the UK singles chart, and her other stompers such as ‘You Keep Comin’ shows the award winning DJ has an energy unlike many others. Don’t miss her on New Year’s Eve alongside Danny Howard!

3. Yuksek

3Pierre-Alexandre Busson, aka Yuksek, is a muti-faceted creative. Known for having multiple talents that include singing, producing (including some well renowned remixing!) and of course stellar mixing, he’s a rare asset to the dance community.

Expect all the soul & grooves, that you can shake a stick at when he commands the Glitterbox booth. He isn’t just known for his Disco selections though – his house drops can change a sets tempo instantly. He’s known as a musical craftsman and surely that will get the loving crowd boogying until the early hours. Don’t miss him at Glitterbox on the 14th December!

4. Deeper Purpose

London based artist and Audio Rehab regular Deeper Purpose returns to the hallowed grounds of  SE1 this winter. The deep house & tech house selections on offer will go down a storm on the dance floor.

Being no stranger to London’s clubs, and playing at the capital’s biggest venues ‘Egg’ & ‘XOYO’ as a resident DJ means he knows just what eager London revelers want. With recent releases on Repopulate Mars and La Pera Records, we can anticipate his groovy tracks layered with punchy percussion to hit the right notes this winter. Catch him on 23rd November with Sigma and many more!

5. Louie Vega

From one capital to another, the master from across the pond and all round hit master, Louie Vega has seen it all from the early days of rave to the present.

With huge hits such as ‘Deep Inside’, ‘Diamond Life’ and ‘Ride on the Rhythm’, we definitely think hands will be raised and voices will be singing. The undoubtedly cool veteran will be just what’s needed over these chilly months, and all that experience will be on display come 30th November for Groove Odyssey!
