Source Maidstone to host anti-knife crime fundraiser with Ramin Rezaie

Choose Lives Not Knives will host their first event to help tackle knife crime

Following the tragic death of Andre Bent in Maidstone, Kent a charity fundraiser event is set to take place this coming Sunday 8th September at The Source. The inspiring initiative which is being led by local artist Ben Humphrey aka Ben.Ny, his partner Sophie Claire and former Shapes member Liam Kelly has been formed in an attempt to put a stop against the rising rate of knife crime.

Liam Kelly has said :

“Knife crime is something that is on the rise and something which is infecting the minds and lives of people we know.

“It’s even creeping into the streets of our home county and something needs to be done, even if we can make the smallest bit of difference as a community, we will do it the best way we can – through music.”

Choose Lives Not Knives will hold their first event from 1pm – 8pm this Sunday with a collective of local DJs including both Ben.Ny and Liam, alongside Chris Nottingham, Si Neary and Solid Grooves regular Ramin Rezaie.

All proceeds from the day, including tickets and drinks will be donated to Mr Bent’s family to cover the cost of his funeral. Following on from Sunday, Choose Lives Not Knives plan to continue their efforts, raising funds to support the cause, along with hosting follow up events to reinstall hope and fight knife crime amongst the community.
