Forwards Festival is coming to Bristol later this year on September 1st and 2nd. The two-day festival will celebrate forward-thinking music, art, and culture, showcasing some of the most exciting and innovative artists of our time. Arriving at the quaint greenspace of The Bristol Downs, this year’s edition will boast 3 large stages hosting a wide range of music from a list of iconic performers, some of which have paved the way for modern artists within their genres. Alongside the big names are an exciting selection of emerging artists ready to showcase their styles to the people of Bristol.

In addition to the musical offerings, the festival will also feature a range of talks, workshops, and panel discussions on topics related to art, technology, and culture. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with leading thinkers and practitioners in these fields and to learn about the latest trends and innovations shaping our world. Expect a diverse range of programming, exhibitions of cutting-edge contemporary art, and interactive installations.

Friday night will see headline shows from the queen of neo-soul Erykah Baduh and melodic maestro Bonobo. Joining them on the day are the likes of Biig Piig, Confidence Man, Olivia Dean, Wesley Joseph, and a special guest live ensemble show from dance music legend Goldie. Another of the festival’s highlights will be a performance by the internationally acclaimed electronic musician Aphex Twin, who will be headlining on Saturday night. Joining them are a selection of huge acts including Primal Scream, Leftfield, Arlo Parks, Amyl and the Sniffers, Viagra Boys, Jockstrap, Katy J Pearson, and Yazmin Lacey.
