Brand new music from Blinkie on PXL Records

Two tracks inspired by the 90s house and techno scene

London producer Blinkie is back with a bang, dropping his first tracks of 2020. The double-single ‘What You Want’ and ‘What You Do’ was released today on his own imprint PXL Records and is available across multiple platforms to stream and download. Branching out from his usual production style, the two track release shines a deeper and darker side to the artist, which very few may have heard before.

Speaking about the new tracks, Blinkie has said:

“The inspiration behind me making “What You Do” & “What You Want” was the 90s techno and house scene. I wanted to make something different from my usual sound – something a bit more moody, gritty and energetic more for underground clubs.”

‘What You Do’ switches up the vibe, leading with a catchy acid line and infectious looping vocals. Laced with energy, this peak-time banger will no doubt have crowds moving at the first raves back.

It’s exciting to see Blinkie back in the game and reaching out of his comfort zone where production is concerned. His previous hits such as ‘Must Be Love’ and ‘Don’t Give Up (On Love)’ have seen huge success, amassing an astonishing 30 million streams and heavy support from BBC Radio 1. Could this be a new direction for his sound?
