Featuring at Tomorrowland earlier this year on the Nico & Friends stage, both Tom and Nico have struck a harmonious duo together which is evidently displayed through their two-track Cortado EP. Collaborating for the latest Katemukke release, the stellar EP dropped on the 27th of September via the Berlin-based label.
The production link up demonstrates how quickly both artists have bonded and utilised their strengths to form an advantageous partnership. With Nico Morano typically known for his electronic house sets and Tom Zeta who has a bachelor in composition and music technology, the two have combined their backgrounds and skillsets to create a recipe for success. The result of this has since seen their recent release supported by globally recognised artists such as: Joris Voorn, Eelke Kleijn and Nic Fanciulli to name a few.
The EP
Cortado
Built upon a deep groove but one that also hits hard, the layers of percussion resonate into a silky-smooth melody that will get the party goers grooving. Cleverly placed chords add the rhythmic edge to the track that will make you warm into the night.
Riseretto
As deeply engrossed to the underground feel of the first track, the rolling kicks stay prominent and transcendent synths crafted perfectly allow the EP to partner charmingly. A transfixing track built for the floors of big clubs this winter and beyond.
The Partnership
The two artists have both been big fans of the Katemukke label, with Nico speaking about their shared love for the German label across social media
“We are also both big fans of the German 𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐔𝐊𝐊𝐄 label. So it is fair to say that Tom & myself are super excited we are now part of this family.”
After meeting at ADE almost a year ago, they knew a great long-lasting relationship was about to form. The two decided to team up in the studio and it’s been a wonderful outcome of melodic underground music ever since.
Both artists can be found in Amsterdam at different points during the next month. With ADE being the next big electronic attraction buzzing around industry circles, we guarantee you’d have a trip worth your while. Follow Nico & Tom across social media to keep track on the forward thinking & eclectic artists.
