Next year will see dance music’s most famous spider land back in London. Scheduled for the 4-5th May at Queen Elizabeth Olympic park, the event will be the Arachnid’s only UK appearance for the year. The high octane Arcadia spectacle is set to return in full force, with a performance of the ever-evolving Metamorphosis show accompanying the spider’s second stint in the English capital.
Along with the 50 tonne flame-shooting spider will also bring a reincarnation of Arcadia’s immersive 360 degree indoor experience; The Reactor. This year’s debut of the enclosed arena featured no access to exterior light, offering a dark void-like setting with spellbinding laser shows.
Completing the staging for the event sees the smaller Bug stage join the weekend’s proceedings. Built from an ex-military truck and submarine, The Bug takes the form of a giant beetle, with the structure’s wings previously enclosing a powerful Funktion-One sound system.
Lineups for the weekend are still yet to be announced, but if last year’s is anything to go by, we’ll likely be in for a treat.
