New 4000 capacity music venue opens in East London

The exciting new space opened its doors over the Halloween weekend

Last weekend, East London welcomed Eutopia – a bold new 4,000-capacity indoor & outdoor venue that’s transforming a collection of 1950s warehouses on the River Roding into a next-generation hub for music, art and culture. Following a £1.5 million renovation, the Barking site blends raw industrial character with world-class design and d&b Audiotechnik sound across three interconnected spaces and an open-air courtyard.

Built with exploration and inclusivity at its core, the venue will host everything from large-scale club shows and live performances to exhibitions and community-led events. Early programming already reads like a who’s who of UK dance music culture, with confirmed partners including 51st State Festival, AEG, Appetite, Back to 95 (25th Anniversary), Breakin Science, Centerforce, Dance On Arrival, HOWL, Moon Dance, Recess, Sankeys, Space Ibiza, World Dance and Zulu Nation – spanning house, techno, bass, amapiano and beyond.

Inside, the three warehouse spaces offer distinct atmospheres. WHS 1 channels classic New York and London underground energy with immersive lighting and high-spec sound. WHS 2 is a vast, reconfigurable arena ready for 360-degree events and live concerts, while WHS 3 delivers a more intimate, design-led setting for exhibitions and social gatherings. Outdoors, The Yard adds a 1,700-capacity riverside playground lined with art, street food and foliage – bringing festival energy to a permanent London space.

Behind Eutopia is a powerhouse team of UK nightlife veterans: Michael Hughes (Garage City, Back to 95), Nikki Gordon (We Are FSTVL, Ministry of Sound), Will Paterson (20+ festivals, 11 venues) and Tom Ranger (Dreamland Margate, Oval Space, Live Nation’s Soundcrash). Together, they’ve built a venue that fuses world-class production with a community-first vision, setting the stage for a new era of large-scale clubbing in the capital.

The venue’s opening weekend set the tone for Eutopia’s bold ambitions, kicking off with Howloween on October 31 – a boundary-pushing showcase that featured eight collectives including Boudica, HOWL, and Tech Couture, with sets from Akua, Debbie., Maara, RayRay, and more. The following night, Appetite took over for a stacked Halloween session headlined by Dungeon Meat, Sarah Story, ADMNTi, James Lavelle, Elliot Schooling, and a host of UK underground talent, marking an explosive debut for East London’s newest cultural hub.
