The 24th edition of the DJ Awards lit up Ibiza Town’s ROTO Club last week, closing the island’s summer season with an intimate celebration of global electronic music culture. Returning for its second year since relaunch, the proudly independent ceremony once again put the power in the hands of the fans – revealing the winners of 2025’s publicly voted genre awards across house, techno, drum & bass, trance and more.

This year’s winners showcased a perfect balance between legacy names and future stars. Kerri Chandler, Amelie Lens, Chase & Status, and Solomun all walked away with well-deserved recognition, while breakthrough acts like Hannah Laing, Olive F, and MINA highlighted the evolving face of club culture. The addition of new categories such as Balearic and Hard Dance/Bounce further reflected how the DJ Awards continues to evolve with the sounds dominating dance floors across the globe. With backing from partners like YouTube, Skiddle, and Suntory, the ceremony captured the spirit of a scene still bursting with creativity and reinvention.

The Grand Jury Industry Awards turned the spotlight on the figures shaping the business side of dance music. Yann Pissenem took home Industry Executive of the Year, while UNUM Festival (Albania) earned the Global Festival Award and Soundstorm Festival was recognised for its growing influence across the MENA region. Posthumous honours went to Alfredo, celebrated as an Ibiza Icon, while Simon Dunmore received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his enduring impact on house culture. Elsewhere, IbizaPreservation was acknowledged for its environmental efforts with the Social Impact Award, and Toman’s “Verano En NY” claimed Track of the Summer, rounding off a night that paid tribute to every corner of the electronic ecosystem.
In a year where Ibiza itself has weathered both literal and cultural storms, the DJ Awards stood as a reminder of the island’s central role in global clubbing. A portion of the event’s proceeds went to the Spanish Red Cross (Creu Roja) to support flood recovery efforts, a move that reinforced the awards’ community-driven ethos. As CEO Andy Grant put it, the ceremony celebrates “the artists who’ve genuinely moved the people and the dance floors.”
