This September, a new cultural space is opening beneath the streets of Central London. Known simply as 77, the venue is a purpose-built underground hub designed with music, design, and atmosphere at its core. With room for 550 people, it promises to blend cutting-edge production with a sense of intimacy often missing from larger clubs. The doors open to the public on Friday, 26 September.

At the heart of 77 is a focus on sound and immersion. The room is equipped with an L-Acoustics system, complete with KS21 subs, built to deliver both warmth and clarity. Visuals play an equal role, with Robe lighting, lasers, strobes, CO₂ jets, and LED screens shaping the environment into a fully sensory experience. The space is spread across two levels, with a mezzanine above the main floor, designed so that every corner has a direct connection to the performance below.

The programming reflects a similar attention to detail. Eniz Hilmi, Director of Music, describes the venue as a place where artists can push beyond the limits of a typical set:
“We’ve designed 77 to deliver the kind of production you’d expect from a much bigger venue, but with the connection between artist and audience always at the centre. By giving DJs and live acts the chance to play extended sets—even all night long—we’re creating space for them to tell a full story with their music. Audiences get to experience something they can’t find anywhere else in the city.”
Because the venue is fully soundproofed and acoustically treated, it lends itself to more than just late-night events. Alongside club nights, it is adaptable for album launches, fashion showcases, and cultural gatherings. The design and service model have been deliberately shaped to support interaction; between performers and audiences, but also between different creative communities.

77 is the work of a team with long-standing roots in music and nightlife. Jonathan Wade, a nightlife figure with experience at Tao Group, brings an international perspective. Eniz Hilmi contributes his curatorial approach from years of programming at Rinse FM, Mas Tiempo, and major UK festivals. Sebastian Banovic adds deep knowledge of London’s hospitality scene, having worked with venues such as KOKO, The Roof Gardens, and Tramp. Together, they’ve created a space that looks to sit at the intersection of music, people, and culture; less a nightclub in the traditional sense, and more a platform for shared experiences.
