New Electronic Music Hub ‘komunal’ Launches in Birmingham

A breathe of fresh air for Birmingham

A new chapter in Birmingham’s music scene begins with the launch of komunal, a community-driven space dedicated to high-quality electronic music and independent global voices. Opening its doors this August, komunal aims to foster deeper connections through thoughtful programming and a commitment to contemporary club culture.

More than just a venue, komunal includes a newly built bar and an innovative feature called the karavan, a converted caravan turned livestream booth. The karavan will serve as the broadcast hub for komunal radio, hosting regular sessions and showcasing a rotating lineup of selectors.

For its inaugural event on August 15th, komunal will welcome Berlin-based Croatian DJ Dea Dvornik, best known as one half of the duo ERIS. The night promises to set the tone for a venue built around artistic exploration and community spirit.
