On May 17 and 18, 2025, the second edition of Upclose returns to Spaarnwoude-Park, transforming it into a sanctuary for techno lovers. Organised by Awakenings, the event aims to brings the intimacy of the dance floor to a festival setting.
Building on the success of its sold-out debut, Upclose 2025 dives deeper into the progressive and niche edges of techno, offering an experience crafted for those who live and breathe the genre. The line-up features pioneers, boundary-pushers, and emerging talents.
This year’s highlights include the legendary Jeff Mills, alongside Donato Dozzy and Jane Fitz, delivering a hypnotic fusion of ambient and techno. The iconic EZ, godfather of UK Garage, and hard-hitting artists like Kobosil and DJ Rush ensure a high-energy atmosphere. Unique acts like 999999999 (special acid set) and Atsuo the Pineapple Donkey (Dutch debut) will also perform, while local heroes like Cynthia Spiering and Benny Rodrigues showcase the strength of the Dutch underground.
Dynamic B2Bs will also take place, including Ben Klock x Ignez, Surgeon x Rrose, and Marrøn x Rødhåd. There will be exclusive performances from Traumer, debuting his new live show ad Stigmata (live). Rising stars including Nelly, Tekna, and Grace Dahl, round off the stacked roster.
