The Cause team has unveiled a new chapter for The Greyhound, their South London pub located at 109 Peckham High St, London SE15 5SE. Following a series of successful ad-hoc parties earlier this year, featuring the likes of DJ EZ, Ahadadream, LaLa, and Capo Lee, the team has transformed the pub’s basement into a 150-capacity subterranean venue. Equipped with a Martin Audio Soundsystem, the revamped space will host a diverse programme of music, culture, and arts events throughout Winter 2024.
The Greyhound aims to remain an entry point for emerging talent in London, while also attracting world-renowned artists from the dance music scene. Over the coming months, the venue will present a lineup of underground selectors, producers, and promoters, offering a dynamic range of rhythms to keep the dancefloor alive.
Having already welcomed acts such as Dr Banana, Tasha, DJ Flight, Bone Soda, Dash The Henge, Willow, and Bunney, The Greyhound’s basement has hosted everything from club nights and live gigs to record fairs and clothing markets. With this new era, the venue seeks to broaden its offerings to include comedy, talks, and more, turning the space into a true hub for the South London arts and music community.
The team behind The Cause has long been known for their grassroots ethos and ability to spotlight risk-takers and innovators. Now, with the reimagined basement, they plan to foster the growth of new promoters, artists, and performers, allowing them to evolve alongside The Cause into larger platforms.
Last week saw the launch of The Greyhound’s Basement Sessions, with RDV Sounds, Excelsior, Passer (UK), and JV kicking things off on 14th November, followed by The Greyhound House Party featuring Thumbprint, Softi, and Benko on 15th November, setting the tone for what’s to come in this exciting new space.
