After a four-year hiatus, the prestigious DJ Awards returned to Ibiza on October 2, 2024, celebrating the best in electronic music. Held at the luxurious Chinois venue, the event recognised DJs and industry professionals who have shaped the global dance music scene.
Hosted by BBC Radio 1’s Jaguar and presenter Katie Knight, the ceremony honoured artists across various genres and included industry awards, making a grand comeback after being founded in 1998 by José Pascual and Lenny Krarup. This year marked the 23rd edition of the awards, now under new ownership following their acquisition by Andy Grant.

While industry professionals selected winners in a few key categories, the majority were voted by fans. The awards spanned across multiple categories, each representing top talents in their respective genres. International icon Black Coffee took home the Afro category award, while superstar duo Chase & Status won drum & bass. Legend of the scene Sven Väth was named the winner of the techno category, and Miss Monique was crowned Breakthrough Artist Of The Year.
In the house category, Sam Divine emerged as the winner, and trance legend Armin van Buuren took the top spot in his genre. Other notable winners included CamelPhat for progressive house, WhoMadeWho for organic house, and Vintage Culture in the tech house category.
The awards extended beyond genre-based accolades, recognising achievements within the music industry as well. Luciano was honoured with the Ibiza Icon award and Defected Croatia won for Best Global Festival.
The Ibiza Track of the Summer award went to Adam Port and Stryv’s track “Move Feat. Malachiii,” while David Guetta’s F**k Me I’m Famous / Future Rave event won for Best Ibiza Party. German trio Keinemusik took home the What’s Hot Global award, and Michael Bibi’s One Life campaign for cancer awareness won the Play It Back award.

The ceremony took place at Chinois, a stunning venue located in the heart of Ibiza’s Marina, known for its opulent ambience and cutting-edge sound system. After the awards, an afterparty kicked off with performances from some of the night’s nominees and winners.
Luciano, who received the Ibiza Icon award, delivered a mesmerising set, joined by Cristoph, Mathew Jonson, Ben Sterling, and Ibiza favourite Manu Gonzalez. The afterparty highlighted the island’s vibrant nightlife, blending award celebrations with electrifying performances.
