As we move closer to September, the end of the summer festival season is sadly on the horizon. However, there’s still a few last hurrah’s before we say goodbye to partying beneath the sun (or rain) on Britain’s fields and parks for another year. Before things wrap up, one of the must see events we’ll be heading to is London’s Maiden Voyage Festival.

Since its inception in 2019, MV has provided eclectic line ups bursting with talent from across the globe, spanning a range of genres from jazz and hip hop to house and techno. Taking place at their new home of Burgess Park on September 14th, this year’s programming is no different; you can go from hearing the hair-raising vocals of rising RnB star Erika De Casier to the heavy-hitting sounds of DJ Gigola.

The full lineup is stacked, and features some of the finest names in their respective genres. Whilst every artist is unmissable in their own right, here’s our top 5 to see at this year’s Maiden Voyage.
Palms Trax
First up on our list we have none other than Palms Trax. Real name Jon Donaldson, this widely respected DJ/Producer has become known for breaking the boundaries of electronic music. Being a Dekmantel main stage regular is no easy feat. However, back in 2015, that dream became reality after Donaldson blew away the crowd with a performance many would claim to be a masterpiece. When you see an artist effortlessly float between vintage house, uplifting disco and esoteric underground sounds, you know you’re in for a ride. Strap in for more of the same at Maiden Voyage.
Mall Grab
Next up is Australian sensation Jordon Alexander aka Mall Grab. After relocating to London in 2016 due to a high demand of European bookings, his euphoric high energy sound has since captured the hearts of a global following. He’ll no doubt be locked and loaded with an arsenal of unreleased original productions characterised by infectious melodies and gritty beats, along with a chance to hear the highly sought after tracks forthcoming on his and Effy’s new imprint Fragrance. With Maiden Voyage being Mall Grab’s only London festival performance in 2024, this is one act you do not want to miss.
Jayda G
If there’s one artist who knows how to bring pure joy to the dance floor, it’s Jayda G. The Canadian-born DJ/producer has carved out a special place in the electronic music scene, with her deep love for funk, soul, disco and science. Yes, science – alongside being a grammy-nominated producer, she’s also an environmental toxicologist, blending her passion for music with a commitment to the planet. Her single “If Only We Knew” is a perfect example of this; a feel-good, uplifting track with a message that resonates far beyond the dance floor. Make sure to see her at Burgess Park.
Hunee
Up next we have another Dekmantel regular in the shape of Hunee. A stalwart of the industry who built his extensive musical knowledge from an early age, moving to Berlin straight after finishing his education to comb through record shops and live amongst the city’s bustling underground music scene. Constantly fine-tuning his ever-evolving unconventional playing style, expect a fearless and diverse mix of afro, electro, disco and beyond, expertly tailored to the crowd’s ears by one of the best selectors in the game.
Young Marco
Looking for non stop NRG? Look no further than Safe Trip Records boss Young Marco. An artist who will look to defy your expectations and keep you guessing with every set. Hailing from the vibrant city of Amsterdam, his playful approach to DJing and music production fuses different musical influences together, creating cosmic future-facing sounds with a nostalgic edge. Get ready for an action-packed adventure dipping in and out of every energetic shade of dance music – hold on to your hats.
Special mention – UNFOLD
Finally, we couldn’t write an article about unmissable acts without mentioning the UNFOLD stage. Last year featured special unannounced sets from top talents such as Richie Hawtin, SPFDJ, Anabel Arroyo, James Newmarch and Voicedrone. Prepare for more of the same this time around, paired with a brand new stage design and the unrivalled UNFOLD atmosphere.
