Balenciaga is selling a “used rave wristband” for €3,500

The bracelet is available is pink, black and yellow polyester

Luxury french fashion brand Balenciaga is offering a “raver used bracelet” for a staggering €3,500.

These hand-embroidered bracelets, made in France, look like worn festival wristbands and are crafted using traditional artisanal techniques from the 1850s, such as seed stitch, drawn thread work, point de Boulogne, satin stitch, stem stitch, and front-and-back chain stitch.

Founded in 1919 by Spanish couturier Cristóbal Balenciaga in San Sebastián, the brand has become notorious for its avant-garde approach to fashion, with its unconventional and often provocative creations. Producing footwear, handbags, and accessories, as well as licensing its name and branding to Coty for fragrances.

Available in pink, black, and blue polyester, the adjustable bracelets are part of Balenciaga’s Autumn/Winter 2024 collection, led by creative director Demna. The description notes that creating the distressed, aged appearance requires the expertise of an artist and takes a full day’s work.

This collection also features a bracelet designed to resemble a roll of sellotape, priced at $3,300. Jing Daily highlights that this is part of Balenciaga’s trend of creating meme-worthy fashion items, like handbags that look like Lays potato chip bags.
