Northern Irish producer GVN aka Gavin Brown is making waves in the electronic music scene, with the release of his latest single ‘Thinking About You / Believer’. Dropping earlier this month on February 14th, the track has set the stage for his upcoming EP on Anjunabeats.
First exploding onto the scene in 2018 with a release on Armada, GVN has since featured on Martin Garrix’s label STMPD and collaborated with Third Party on Release Records. In 2021 he caught Anjuna’s attention, leading to his debut on the imprint ‘I Don’t”.

Following this, the derry-native has continued to build momentum, with his music earning the seal of approval from tastemakers like Pete Tong & Danny Howard as well as support from the likes of Lane 8, Kryder, Anja Schneider, Armin van Buuren and more.

Returning to Anjunabeats, ‘Thinking About You / Believer,’ further showcases his versatility as a producer, blending elements from breakbeat, progressive house, and trance to form a genre-straddling banger. Outside of the studio, GVN is no stranger to the booth having performed at Creamfields, Ministry of Sound Club, and The Steel Yard. He’s known for energetic sets which like his production, blur the lines between genres. Off the back of his new release, GVN has shared ten tracks he can’t get enough of right now :
Parisi – Believe In Myself
There’s something about an emotional vocal that fascinates me and this caught my attention straight away. It’s definitely a tune that’s been giving me a spark of motivation recently.
Jon Gurd, Reset Robot – It’s Over
Huge fan of the swinging synth and rhythmic percussion throughout. So simple, yet so effective. Jon Gurd’s most recent productions have been on repeat.
BICEP – CHROMA 001 HELIUM
Bicep are always at the top for me when it comes to breaks. The vocal chops, combined with the gritty leads and mesmerising pads, project such a suspenseful atmosphere fit for a good old rave. Loving this new chapter from them both.
Juno Mamba – Undercut
There’s so many elements going on in this track, I absolutely love it. From the rolling acid bass to the finely cut vocals, not to mention the UKG inspired drums, which all combined give it such a unique rhythm and raw feel throughout.
Tourist – EST
So much feeling in this track. When I listen to music I like to hear something that’s emotional and atmospherical, so this definitely doesn’t disappoint.
DJ BORING – Beautiful Strangers
I love the uniqueness Boring possesses in his productions. One element that really stands out for me in this track is the ‘Sandstorm’-esque lead that comes in the breakdown. It’s such a cool swerve and effective touch.
Skream – Devon Analogue Raver
I absolutely love the grittiness of this track. Packed with energy from the start and sticks throughout. It really gives me the feeling of being fired into the middle of a sweaty rave at 5 in the morning.
Ross From Friends – The One
I’m a huge fan of his productions and this is one that stands out to me. It’s so out of the box, you can definitely tell a lot of fun was had in the production process.
Lawrence Hart – First Light
I have nearly all of Lawrence Harts records in my playlists. ‘First Light’ is one that really connects with me because I’m always hooked by an emotional melody and this one is *chefs kiss.
Nathan Micay – To The God Named Dream
If I had to choose a favourite from all of these picks, it would hands down be this. Everything about this record is special, from the mesmerising angelic vocal hook to the swaying arp and piano. Each time I listen I always seem to discover a new layer. It’s a truly special and un-conventional track in my eyes.
