Preview: Eastern Electrics Festival

EE returns this Bank Holiday Weekend

After celebrating their 10th birthday in 2022, Eastern Electrics will return to the Lee Valley Showground in 2023 with a bigger, better, and bolder mantra. This Saturday, 20,000 ravers will attend, with the organisers promising a bigger lineup, better sound, and bolder production.

If you have already purchased your ticket and will be part of the sell-out crowd this Saturday, you will find 5 unique stages, all with upgrades from previous years to give you an immersive sensory experience. Each stage is headed by some of the leading promoters in the UK, covering every corner of House, Techno, Disco, and everything in between.

The new main stage design will see a full-blown Cuttin’ Headz takeover, where the legendary Bronx duo; The Martinez Brothers will showcase their unique sound. The pair will close out the show at 7.30 pm for an extended set. They will also be joined by a very special guest on the day, yet to be announced.

The most immersive audio-visual experience will come from the Big Top Stage, with its 360° state-of-the-art lighting rig and huge new LED screen additions. The stage is in the heart of the Lee Valley festival site, offering relief from the scorching peak-time sun while immersing you in a mesmerising audio-visual experience.

Big Top will host some of the top names in the world of progressive house and techno. Melodic masterminds ARTBAT lead the charge, accompanied by Joris Voorn, Fideles, Miss Monique, and Airrica. Expect an otherworldly journey charged with emotion and hypnotic euphoria.

If you went last year, you will already be familiar with the Switchyard Stage, which is a staple for Eastern Electrics. A multi-platform dancefloor enclosed by huge metal containers, creating a mini-festival within the festival site.

This year, legendary Ibiza club Amnesia will take over the iconic arena, creating an Ibiza meets London rave vibe. Ben Klock, Marcel Dettman, and Mella Dee are set to perform, bringing their experiences from the island to the depths of London.

Nestled in lush greenery, The Plant Room will welcome local party starters Appetite to an enclosed greenhouse stage stage kitted out with a top-of-the-line sound system, tailored acoustics, and multilevel lighting rigs.

Appetite head honchos Elliot Schooling and Liam Palmer have curated a sure-fire billing for the day. The stage will host Glaswegian powerhouse Denis Sulta, Dutch maestro Chris Stussy, Berlin starlet LOVEFOXY, Slow Life label heads Laurine & Cecilio, and rising talent Tai Lokun.

Finally, you can get in the groove for a daytime disco at the brand new 5th stage, hosted by disco titans La Discothèque. Move D will showcase an all-dancing, all-singing, immersive throwdown, joined by shimmering electronic pop heavyweights Crazy P, high-flying star Barry Can’t Swim, alongside fellow disco selectors Louise Chen and Jaye Ward.

With train strikes happening all over the country this weekend, make sure to check your route. Eastern Electrics is running a shuttle service from Tottenham Hale Station, and Waltham Cross Station will be closed, so Theobalds Grove via the overground is currently the best option. If you fill out this form, they will work out your best route and send you an email.
