Over the past 5 years, Printworks London has become one of the world’s leading venues, curating countless shows which have brought the brightest talents from every corner of the globe to perform in the iconic Press Halls. Formerly the largest printing factory in Western Europe, the space has since become a home to club culture, playing a key role in pushing the envelope for nightlife in London and the UK.
2023 will see the last season of Printworks as we know it. With planned regeneration work due to take place in the local area, the venue must close at least for the foreseeable future whilst the redevelopment is completed. However, the team behind Printworks; Broadwick Live remain in high spirits, as continued conversations take place with British Land and the Local Council in the hopes of preserving the space and eventually re-opening.
Until then, we have one last season to dance, and boy it’s a biggie. Running from 3rd February until 1st May 2023, over 40 shows have been confirmed with a cocktail of brands, artists and performers from every shade of electronic music. Just some of the events announced include D&B from the likes of Hospitality, Worried About Henry & DnB All Stars, house heavyweights Defected and tech titans ABODE, Cuttin Headz & Music On.
Techno lovers are in for a treat with shows from Drumcode, Charlotte De Witte’s KNTXT, and Nina Kraviz brings her Trip label back to Printworks for the first time since 2017. For those into the more niche electronic sounds, AVA returns to London once more, as well as a huge 5 event takeover curated by The Hydra, showcasing sounds from global music institutions; fabric, FWD>>, Plastic People, Tresor and That’s How It Is!
New Printworks editions for this year include the UK’s pioneering queer festival Body Movements, the fast-growing amapiano movement Piano People and The Final Frontier with Honey Dijon. Live classical shows return for the final season with the Aurora Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra holding events during SS23.
Progressive house connoisseurs ARTBAT present their UPPERGROUND concept, as well as a headline stints from trance trio Above & Beyond and Deadmau5 x Kaskade performing under their Kx5 collab alias. Glitterbox & La Discotheque are once again taking over the venue laced wIth groovy sounds as well as minimal house mainstay brand FUSE. Other highlights from the season include Ed Banger Records, Odd One Out, TRICK, Clockwork Orange, Sulta Selects and many more TBA including the closing weekend from 28th April – 1st May.
