5 standout tracks from Access The Festival

A perfect blend of house, disco, and techno

Earlier this month on the 10th & 11th June, Access The Festival took over Sherbourne Park for a two day celebration packed full of feel-good rhythms. Marking their second ATF, with scorching weather and selectors spanning the breadth of house, disco, and techno, the boutique festival perfectly captured that “small” festival feel. Intimate stages, award-winning street food and drinks, contemporary art & leisure activities and an easily traversable site made the experience a breeze to enjoy for the 2000 attendees each day.

Ran by the guys behind Access The Music, who’ve put on big parties across Warwick, Leamington Spa, and London, it was clear that they were no stranger to larger scale events. Owners, and resident DJs Neidex and Darley were excellent hosts – making us feel welcome all day. With clear sound and fantastic production design, it was a pleasure to mix it up between the three unique stages.

We’re a collective focused on bringing together innovative electronic music from all over the globe. Our mission is to present an unparalleled and unique experience to our customers with some of the most talented artists in the world and a creative platform of production.

Access The Festival

The lineup across the two days featured the likes of Mathame, DJOKO b2b Harrison BDP, Raw Silk, Gerd Janson, Octo Octa b2b Saoirse, Jeremy Underground, DJ Boring, Dan Shake and more. With such a stacked lineup, it was a shame we could only make the Saturday! Choosing five tracks from a day which was filled with stand out moments was difficult, but here’s just some of our favourites that we heard :

Xpansions – Move Your Body
Played by: Darley

What a feel-good tune this is. With the sun beating down, this huge uplifting track from the 90s went down an absolute treat with smiles all round. Darley took us on a journey of new and old house, making sure the records matched the sunshine mood. Just look at the grooves from the crowd, it tells you all you need to know.

Mathame – Nothing Around Us
Played by: Mathame

One of their most popular tunes and released on Tale Of Us‘ seminal label Afterlife, this one always hits the sweet spot in Mathame’s shows. Playing a live set through Ableton, it was a treat watching these guys layer their records together. While the whole set perfectly encapsulated that melodic techno sound, Nothing Around Us just makes you want to put your hands in the air and forget about the world.

Benny Benassi & The Biz – Satisfaction
Played by: DJ Boring

An absolute classic from 2003. With DJ Boring, you never know exactly what he’s going to play, but you can always guarantee he won’t disappoint. I must say, this was an unexpected one from the Australian DJ, but we were glad to hear that iconic melody – you can clearly see the crowd was loving it. Throughout his set, Boring layered vocals, drums, and all manner of sounds on his 4 deck set up, with huge buildups leaving the crowd desperate for more!

Hammer House – The Jumper (Mass Medium Remix)
Played by: Dan Shake

The groove master Dan Shake is one house and disco’s finest talents. Real name Daniel Rose-Weir, he effortlessly blends some of the finest rhythms available, filling the dance floor with shuffling feet. Kicking off his set with an impromptu b2b with DEMUJA, the whole set flew by as we boogied under the sun and disco balls. It was the Mass Medium remix of “The Jumper” that kicked it all off for us. Sampling the Destiny’s Child classic “Jumping Jumping”, the bassline on this just makes you want to throw your hands in the air!

Dutchican Soul – Nine O Nine
Played by: DEMUJA

Austrian-based DJ and producer, DEMUJA brings soul to the world of deep disco, house & electro. His set was packed full of groovy house basslines, but it was “Nine O Nine” that ticked all the boxes for us. That raw deep bass just hits perfectly under the sun alongside the classic 909 drums and piano.
