Preview: We Are FSTVL 2021

One of the UK's leading festivals makes its return this weekend

With a hiatus during 2020 thanks to the ongoing pandemic, the easing of restrictions this summer has meant We Are FSTVL is running as normal, albeit in a new location for 2021.

The award winning event showcases the best electronic artists from around the globe, and will be marking it’s 8th year as one of the UK’s leading festivals.

Usually the event garners over 90,000 ravers over their May bank holiday extravaganza, however this year it was pushed back due to the colossal impact of Covid-19. However, we aren’t complaining too much – it’s great that festivals are still going ahead into the last ebbs of hot weather.

This year the location is different, with the fun being centred in Romford’s Central Park, RM10 7EU. So this Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th, we can once again dance together to some of the best music in the game. Opening hours on Saturday are as follows 11am – 10.30 and 11am – 10pm Sunday.

Connection links are brilliant as always, being only a stone’s throw away from the big smoke with the nearest rail station being Romford and nearest tube stops being Dagenham East & Dagenham Heathway both on the District Line.

The brand’s hosting stages at the festival are some of the most recognised in the scene. Saturday has Defected, Circoloco and Casita to cover all your house and techno needs.

Sunday is once again hosted by the biggest labels and party starters around with Paradise, Abode and Mas Vida keeping you moving until the day’s end.

However the pick of the bunch has to go to Glitterbox on Sunday, for it’s hedonistic, inclusive and vibrant production, dancers and ethos. The music is always groovy and the mood uplifting.

Must See Acts :

1) MK

Marc Kinchen is without doubt house music royalty. A legend in his own right and his rise to global superstardom has been achieved via rather humble beginnings.

From his 4×4 deep house grooves from the early days of house music, to being none other than Will Smith’s in house producer, Marc had real commercial crossover during the early 2010s thanks to his deep house tracks reaching the UK top 40.

The man has private edits, remixes and dubs for every one of his iconic tracks to create really gratifying sets. One not to be missed!

2) Andy C

Not many artists can be held in such high esteem by their respective genre. Andy C has gone on to become a figurehead in the DnB scene. He’s well known for his monstrously impactful sets!

Expect brilliance from this man on Saturday, and be prepared for that 160-180 BPM reverberating through your soul.

3) Simon Dunmore

Defected’s head honcho and kingpin, a deft and cultured DJ with one impressive deep catalogue of selections at hand.

He’s also a huge advocate for inclusivity and diversity in the scene, expect the unexpected when he takes to the Glitterbox stage. It’s always a real party when it comes to town.

4) Marco Carola

This Italian maverick has had a thunderously impressive career spanning the past few decades, Marco is able to take his hand to a plethora of genres with ease.

He’s had residencies for Cocoon and Amnesia Ibiza over the years, however his most impressive work is thanks to his Music On project that has seen him become an Ibiza fixture continuously since 2012.

5) Carl Cox

The man, the myth, the legend. Oh Yes, Oh Yes, Oh Yes!

A DJ who needs little introduction. Just watch him play to find out why the Space Ibiza legend who floats effortlessly between house, techno and beyond has made such a name for himself during his long-standing tenure.

The line-up this year is once again utterly mouthwatering. Just take a look at the images below to see what is in store.
