After the successful EXIT festival last weekend, which saw 180,000 people from over 70 countries attend, Lovefest looks to be Serbia next huge summer success. With Covid numbers in the country remaining low, they are opening up to large scale events. To enhance tourism to the country from abroad, Lovefest gave away 500 free tickets to international attendees, with only an online form to bag you a ticket.
The festival could set a precedent for this summer’s events, mirroring the UK’s entry criteria. Only double vaccinated people will be able to enter, or those with a negative PCR test. They have also taken the extra measures to provide body temperature checks and there will be free rapid antigen tests available at the entrance. Payment at the festival, like many in the UK this summer, will be made exclusively with tokens. With these precautions the 15th Lovefest will be held with full capacity, and is claiming to be totally Covid proof.
So between 5th-7th of August in a small town called Vrnjacka Banja Lovefest will play host to some house and techno superstars. Michael Bibi, who has taken the last couple of years by storm, heads up the running. The Solid Grooves head honcho will be coming in hot from his own gig at Three Mills Island, and looks set to have another summer to remember. Bibi is joined by Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati, Seth Troxler, Ilario Alicante, Loco Dice, as well as the trio from the Parisian underground – Apollonia.
With a huge push on Covid safety, and a lack of travelling this year, this festival looks set to be a key one to go to for all of Europe. You can buy tickets at: https://tibbaa.com/order/ckwhmdo19b?lang=en
