Barcelona’s biggest festival is back and they are sparing no expense for next year’s edition. Primavera Sound is a festival known all around the globe for its eclectic energy, artistic design, impressive lineups, and non-stop urban festival madness. The 2022 edition is so huge, they have spread it over 2 weekends and enlisted 415 artists (so far, more still to come!) for the 20th anniversary of this epic event.
Playing between June 2nd-12th is a jaw-dropping programme of international superstars including Jorja Smith, Tame Impala, Dua Lipa, Gorillaz, Tyler The Creator, and quite literally hundreds more. However, what caught our eye was the electronic music lineup (of course). Featuring some of the top talents in house, techno and everything in-between, each of whom will be playing a mixture of venues over the 11 day marathon.

The first weekend is to make up for the cancelation of this year’s event and will run from the 2nd-4th of June. Taking place on the festival site are some killer headline acts, smaller bands, and local performers. Alongside these, you can expect to see the likes of Massive Attack, Honey Dijon, DJ Stingray, Jeff Mills, DJ Harvey, and more.

Mid-week Primavera sees a series of indoor venue events throughout the city of Barcelona from the 5th-8th of June. Here you can see acts in a more intimate setting and again the lineup for this is impressive. Expect DJ sets from Disclosure, John Talabot, Giles Peterson, Jamie XX, and many more.

A 2nd weekend was added as Primavera felt they needed to give back to the fans. Running from the 9th-11th this weekend is back at the festival site for another huge selection of acts including the likes of Bicep, Black Coffee, HAAi, DJ Seinfeld, Daniel Avery (live), Mall Grab, VTSS, Jessie Ware, and more.

Saving the best to last is the final day of the festival and it’s one you don’t want to miss. ‘Brunch on the Beach’ taking place on June 12th features a full day of ocean side celebrations to close this immense festival. Here Primavera has pulled out some of the biggest names in the game, including; Amelie Lens, Nina Kraviz, Peggy Gou, Chaos In The CBD, Héctor Oaks, Joyhauser, Monolink, Nikola Cruz (DJ set), Anika Kunst and Malika.

As if all these world class acts spread over 11 days isn’t enough, Primavera have announced that more will be added at later dates so watch this space. Tickets go on sale this month so be sure to grab yours using the link here.
