This August Bank Holiday, a brand new festival lands in the idyllic setting of Springfield Farm in St Albans. The brainchild of two seasoned promoters; Houseworks & The Solace, Freedom Fest aims to celebrate the end of these hard times and liberate people to dance together again.
With decades of experience between them, The Solace and Houseworks have all the tools they need to throw one helluva party. Spearheaded by two long-standing friends; Lui and Danny, The Solace was born to champion the more soulful shades of house from across the years. Sharing a passion for the genre, Houseworks is run by a tightly-knit team of four, with their previous sold out parties renowned for shining the spotlight on all things house music. Together with the help of Chrystal Nagle’s Angel Promotions to manage the logistics of the event, this dream team will have all bases covered.

Their collaboration this summer will see every corner of the genre featured from deeper beats, to funky rhythms and upfront bangers. Running from 11.30am until midnight on Saturday 28th August, 12 hours of non-stop music will be on offer, soundtracked by a hand-picked selection of artists.

Topping the lineup is Ibiza legend Brandon Block. The industry veteran has seen and done it all, with previous club residencies around the globe, a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and his own shows on the likes of Kiss 100 and MTV Dance. He’ll no doubt get the party going in St Albans. Playing alongside him will be Defected signed artist Nik Moss GA (formerly Groove Assassin), Centreforce Radio’s DJ Aston, Wayne from Soul Avengerz and rising Hot Bed star Max Evans.
Completing the lineup are The Solace residents Lui H and Dan Yo, as well as Houseworks’ Dave Randall, Stan & DJ Laney. Away from the music, expect a variety of stalls offering food, clothing, and other festival style amenities. Freedom Fest will also be involving two local charities – Nikki’s Wishes and HERTS4MEN, making contributions to both great causes on the day.
