Preview : Fabric Sundays host Alter Ego with Mehlor

Deep house returns to Farringdon

One of the world’s most iconic clubs, a strict high-end music policy and top quality DJs. These are just some of the essential ingredients for throwing a memorable night in the capital’s booming underground nightlife. As Fabric continues its 20 year celebrations welcoming a diverse range of artists and brands, London based outfit Alter Ego will be taking over the iconic Room One on Sunday 13th October, bringing with them a guest who’s quickly becoming one of the driving forces behind a revolution in deep house; Mehlor.

Following a string of support from some of the best in the business, with names such as Chris Stussy, ANOTR and Ben Rau approving the aspiring selector, the future is looking bright for the Doncaster based artist. Aside from being a respected DJ, Mehlor also boasts some tip top productions, with releases on labels such as PIV, Kina Music, Hatch Recordings, and Ladeep.

Deep house, the sound which erupted into the scene between 2010-2014, hitting the UK charts, blowing up in the US and slingshotting into the mainstream. Then, the bubble burst and with it deep house was pushed back into the underground. It was then time for the next wave of producers such as Mehlor to rise through the ranks, spearheading a generation of edgy, new-age deep house production laced with with garage influences. The future for the sound is looking promising indeed.

Alter Ego haven’t put all their eggs in one basket, having filled the billing with a talented roster of residents including Marcelina Wick, Mälu, Daisybelle, Haïch & Tony Allen. Each of whom will be locked & loaded with with high-end minimal beats to add another interesting dynamic to the proceedings. Fabric London has been at the forefront of the industry for years, welcoming some of the industry’s top artists across a broad spectrum of genres. This night will see their event diversity at its finest, showcasing a refreshing sound and collective of upcoming artists who will have Room One in full swing.
