One of Amsterdam’s grass-root techno parties keeping the city’s ravers dancing every week is setting up shop at a new home. Previously hosted on a Tuesday in the Sugar Factory, the club was famous for supplying thumping late night events most days of the year. Unfortunately the popular venue was forced to close its doors for good earlier this year, following 14 years of hosting memorable parties which will be remembered my many – including the Techno Tribe.
However, that was by no means the end of the road. April 4th saw the return of Techno Tribe in their new home; Paradiso. Based within a grand events hall in a converted church, Paradiso welcomes a diverse schedule of events during the year, including hosting the after parties for Holland’s powerhouse brand; Awakenings. With a large open dance floor and two levels of stunning balconies, there’s plenty of room for rave shenanigans.
Using the former Church’s decor and structure to their advantage, specially installed lighting illuminates the hall’s stained glass windows, filling the room with vibrant colour to create an impressive visual experience. This, combined with a pumping sound system, and well managed bars made for a promising opening night.
Following the launch, the tribe will be hosting their events on a monthly basis in their new found home – looks like we’ll be going to church more often! The next party will take place on the 2nd of May with Amsterdam local and awakenings regular Ici Sans Merci taking control of the decks. Playing in support are a strong team of Dutch DJs to bring some hard hitting sounds to the party. Entry to the event is free, so you’d be daft to miss it!
