The curly-haired Geordie wizard who also happens to be an international DJ and respected producer is launching his very own label, designed to expose his close industry friends and upcoming artists to the forefront of house music. Using a wealth of experience gained over the years from his own countless releases on the likes of VIVa, elrow & DFTD will no doubt bring out the best of the label, making it the home to some future fire.
Appropriately named “Jacky & Friends”, the label’s first EP is from the boss himself with the lead track “Uhh Ohh” featuring a wicked remix from Kreature, whilst the B-Side “Another Place” gets a twist from house maestro Huxley.
Expect plenty more to come from the label in 2019 with future releases already in the pipeline from up and coming London duo Ren Phillips & YING YANG, who took the scene by storm towards the end of 2018. Rising stars Truth Be Told will also be bringing a production masterclass to the label this year, in what is set to be an exciting 2019 for Jacky & Friends.
Here’s what Jacky had to say about the new venture;
“I was finding so much amazing music from friends in the industry, and more importantly from new artists whom I had never heard of, that I thought it would be such a waste not to show this music to the world – the label is the perfect way to do this”
Jacky himself is set to see a busy couple of months, not least from the new label which kicks off at the end of January, but also with a 9 date tour of Australia & New Zealand starting in February.
