In just over a week, Welsh superstar Jamie Jones will be commanding Maidstone’s infamous Source Bar alleyway alongside Nic Fanciulli. A recent flurry of big name artists have featured at the Kent club, with the likes of Hot Since 82, Deadmau5 and Darius Syrossian all making the journey to Maidstone in the past 2 months alone.
With a kitted out set up of Funktion-One audio and ingeniously orchestrated lighting system, it’s clear why Kent’s leading underground venue is continuing to bring the superclub names to the intimate space.
The Paradise head honcho is currently one of the most in-demand figures in the game, With performances full of unreleased gems that ooze powerful and funky rhythms, not to mention his own faultless production. Throughout the years JJ has put his stamp on the scene with releases on labels such as his co-owned Hot Creations, Hottrax and Crosstown Rebels. Remixes of Azaari’s “Hungry For The Power” and Cajmere’s “Percolator” have all since played a part in the industry legend status he holds today.
His recently released two track EP on Hot Creations entitled “Doctor Zouk” has quickly become the talk of the town, featuring some gritty basslines and tribal undertones, there’s no doubt the new EP along with the other treats hidden on the world’s most wanted usb will thump through the alleyway’s Funktion-One sound system.
Supporting the headline acts will see a strong supporting cast of local talent, including Benny Ataari, Alex Niechoj, K&K, Chris Nottingham and Haynes, pumping out tracks across the venue’s 4 rooms.
