House music hasn’t always been the name of the game for M K E Y. Beginning his journey with a far different sound, the young scot grew his passion for music through playing the bagpipes, before venturing into electronic sounds. His previous years before spinning tracks were spent in the army, recently opting to follow his passion and swap the boots for beats. The now soldier-turned-selector has since secured various residencies in London’s underground scene, including his own radio show on House 559 Music.
After taking the time to hone his production ability, the artist has recently released his very first EP. “That 80s Underground” out on Lefty Shades Records climbed to 25 in the top 100 tech house releases during it’s first week. The groove-filled debut collation is due to be followed by further EPs which are already in the pipeline with a number of labels.
No stranger to the big names, M K E Y has recently spent time working alongside Balearic media giants; Ibiza Club News, leading to further involvement on the industry’s most sought after island. The upcoming summer months are looking strong for the artist, with frequent trips to the White Isle in the diary. Expect to see M K E Y at the island’s reignited super club Eden, along with regular stints at Ibiza Rocks Bar and Hush in San Antonio.
